Leather care
Leather furniture care is a vital process to keep your leather items in good condition for a long time. The most important way you can care for your leather is to keep it clean! If in doubt contact us for professional deep cleaning.
Allowing dirt, dust, sweat and dye to accumulate in the leather pores and creases can cause the coating to crack, peel and discolour.
Leather furniture care
Some cases of neglected leather furniture care are illustrated in the following images. These three examples highlight the need for leather sofa care, car leather care and leather chair care, which required repair and restoration:
Leather care kit
Regular cleaning should be followed by feeding using a good leather conditioner. Following this method should make your goods last for many years. Based on our experience we are able to recommend a simple but very effective leather care kit including cleaner, hide food cream, light scrubbing brush and cloths.
Car leather care
Areas which are in contact with your skin and head, for example arms and backrests, car steering wheels etc. should be cleaned regularly, as perspiration breaks down the finish and pigment very quickly.
Car leather seats also commonly suffer friction from jeans, as the rough edges around the belt area can easily wear the side of a leather chair. Typical damage to a car leather chair is illustrated in the example above. Car leather care can also be added to a regular car cleaning routine.
Leather furniture care and pets

Keep pets (dogs and cats) off leather furniture! Not only do dogs and cats mark leather with their claws - secretions from their coat and saliva/urine traces will cause the leather to deteriorate very quickly, especially modern, two coat leather.
