Dog damage
Dog damage can be from scuffing (climbing on to the furniture) but also from their secretions from their coat and saliva/urine traces will cause the leather to deteriorate very quickly, especially modern, two coat leather.
Dogs can also bite/ chew the leather causing considerable leather damage.
The picture below illustrates an extreme example of dog damage:

Other than re-covering the whole sofa arm (which is prohibitively expensive) we can splice pieces of leather into affected areas – not perfect but far better than a hole and much more cost effective than re-covering. See below:

Dog or cat damage is best repaired since it is either way much more cost effective compared to replacing the furniture or the pet! Once you have a pet you have to lower your standards of housekeeping unless you keep the out of them out of the house.
